The Suzanne Joubert House
This house, built between 1871 and 1881, belonged to the millwright George White. Samuel H. Benedict bought the house in 1885 and settled there in 1888. His wife, Mary Hurdman, sold the house to Frederick McLean in 1899, but he never lived in it. It was a rental property for many years. From 1983 to 1991, Quebec artist Suzanne Joubert painted there. Although the current owner does not live in the house, he ensures its preservation.
