Learning Objectives


Students will discover different aspects of culture and daily life in India, then and now, by examining, and engaging in, a diversity of artistic styles and traditions. Learning will be linked directly to the Ontario curriculum. You may wish to adapt the pre-visit, the visit itself, and post-visit activities to fit specific your Language, Arts, and Social Studies curriculum needs. In such cases, Assessment and Evaluation might be based on the student's listening and communication skills, work produced during the visit, and the results of post-visit activities.

Special Programming Note

The Museum will celebrate Diwali (the Hindu festival of lights) in November, and will highlight Spring themes in February. You may wish to consider these special events and attractions when booking your visit to the exhibition.

  • Identify various artistic techniques, then use these techniques when producing and responding to works of art.
  • Gain an understanding of some aspects of culture and life in India.
  • Make connections between the techniques they learn, and their own existing knowledge and experience.
